Bollywood on Broadway
To support our Indian community in Buloke Shire, the Victorian Multicultural Commission has provided a grant and Wycheproof VISION in cooperation with Wycheproof P-12 College will host the Gowri Dances of India in a colourful spectacular performance on Staurday 17 March. Gowri and her troupe will host workshops for school children at Wycheproof P-12 College on Friday 16 March. On the Saturday morning Gowri will host a dance workshop giving everyone in the community the chance to learn dance steps in the Bollywood style. The Saturday performance is described as an extravaganza of colour, movement and music. For information about Gowri and the Bollywood dance style see her website click here

The Grainflow Mt Wycheproof Great Grain Festival 2011 is a celebration of life in the bush and the chance to support those who were inundated in the January floods. It will include a produce market, exhibitions, the reinvigorated iconic King of the Mountain race, and the much-anticipated Music on the Mount. Packages for trade displays and sponsors are available. To secure your site and to promote your produce contact festival organisers via email: info@wycheproof.vic.au
Wycheproof VISION has partnered with new sponsor Grainflow for the Wycheproof Great Grain Festival. The 2011 festival is a major district fund raiser for flood recovery for Charlton & District. Grainflow representative Brain Turner said that being able to help both communities and an opportunity to lift rural spirits was important for the organisation and for the recovery of the district after the devastating January floods.
Support from other organisations with local connections will also prove to be an important morale and economic boost in the recovery process. RBS Morgans and Bendigo Property Services are two such organisations contributing to the Festival and in turn to the Charlton Flood Relief effort. Impressed by the inter-town relationship between Charlton and Wycheproof, RBS Morgans had no hesitation in supporting the event and becoming a Festival partner.

Major contributions from local operators include Wimmera Mallee Waste, Mt Wycheproof Café, Royal Mail Hotel and Wycheproof Post Office with the majority of local sponsors motivated to increase their financial support from previous years to assist with the flood relief projects in the district.
The Grainflow Wycheproof Great Grain Festival still has sponsor packs for naming rights of events as well as market stall sites and catering opportunities. The Festival is accepting general sponsorship and donations from organisations and individuals wanting to contribute to the fundraising effort. All enquiries for sponsorship, stall sites, catering and ticket sales contact Wycheproof Community Resource Centre – 5493 7455.
The King of the Mount Duathlon takes the shape of a run–cycle–run event over approximately 20kms. It was hotly contested in 2008 at the 'Steaming Up Broadway' festival and cemented its popularity in 2010. Organised by the Wycheproof Wanderers Bike Club, this event should not be missed. Who will take the King of the Mountain title 2011?
